DR. CHRISTIAN ASPALTER (author/editor of nine books)
Brief Introduction
Dr. Aspalter has taught,
or researched in Australia, Austria, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Korea (Australian
National University, University of Linz, Shantou University, Fudan University,
The University of Hong Kong, Chaoyang Univeristy of Technology, National Chi
Nan University, Overseas Chinese Institute of Technology, Yonsei University,
Seoul National University).
He specializes in welfare state comparison, welfare state theory, and social
policy analysis in Asia, and worldwide. He has published 9 books, the most
recent being "Neoliberalism and the Australian Welfare State"
(Casa Verde, 2003). He also published a number of articles in international
journals, such as "Population Policy in India" (International
Journal of Sociology and Social Policy, UK), "Politics and Its Impact
on Social Policy in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Mainland China" (Social
Policy Review, UK), and "Democratization and Welfare State Extension
in Taiwan" (Welt Trends, University of Heidelberg, Germany).
He is chief editor of the Journal of Societal and Social Policy, and
the Social Policy Times, and the director of the Research Center
of Societal and Social Policy.
